What is ACTM?
ACTM is a Windows program that allows you to 'map' 32x32 pixel images onto a large grid. This makes it easier to share your AC textures with others. ACTM maps your picture with the colors you have used so it is up to you to make sure they fit one of Animal Crossing's 16 color palettes.
Where can I get ACTM?
There are two downloads you can chose from. The first is a full download from here (2917K). The full download includes all of the files you will need to run the program and an easy to use setup. If you have used ACTM before, or know that you already have the VB6 runtime files, you can download just the EXE from here (18K).
How do I use ACTM?
It is as easy as 1 2 3!
- Click on the Open button. Select the .bmp, .gif, or .jpg file that you want to map.
- Click on the Map button. The large grid will now fill in with your picture.
- Click on the Save button. Choose where you want to save your map and what to name it.
Hey, why can I only save as a bitmap?
Programming the ability to save images as JPEG and GIF in Visual Basic requires advanced skill and certain licenses. Here at P&Q we are pretty novice programmers and haven't had the time to add this feature. Most users open up the map in another program and add text (such as what palette used or their name) and save the bitmap as a GIF or JPEG.
